Beach CRA funds in the amount of $15,600,000 are being used to replace water and sewer lines along surf road and the east-west streets.

This is the first of a multiphase capital improvements project implemented by the City of Hollywood's Design and Construction Management Department.

Project details below:

* 52 Blocks, Sherman Street to Magnolia Terrace

* Replace 8" diameter clay sewer pipe with 8" diameter PVC pipe

* Replace brick sanitary manhole with precast concrete structures

* Replace 6" diameter water main with 12" diameter water main

* Upgrade water and sewer up to property line

* Additional new fire hydrants to meet increased demand

* Projected completion date is June 2008 at a cost of $206,000 per block
