Music-lovers can look forward to more Broadwalk Friday Fest offerings on Hollywood Beach in 2006. On Jan. 13 and 27, experience this oceanside cultural arts performance series at the outdoor Hollywood Beach Theater, then savor waterfront dining at its best along the oceanfront Broadwalk or Intracoastal Waterway.

The festivities on Jan. 13 will include a concert by hot five-piece Brazilian band Prato Principal and an Antique & Classic Car Show. Enjoy a sizzling blend of Brazilian jazz, reggae, ska and modern rock from 7 to 10 p.m. Stroll the world-famous Broadwalk from 6 to 9 p.m. and check out the display of pre-1974 classic cars, antiques, street rods and muscle cars (no motorcycles, please). Cars enter the show from State Road A1A at Michigan Street. Admission and car show registration are free.

On Jan. 27, Broadwalk Friday Fest will feature the Melton Mustafa Orchestra from 7 to 10 p.m. Enjoy an evening of dancing under the stars to traditional jazz selections and original compositions by this South Florida favorite.

In addition to the Friday Fest special entertainment offerings, beachgoers can experience the picturesque Broadwalk’s charming mix of shops and dining options, from casual to sophisticated, in an inviting and relaxed, pedestrian-friendly seaside setting.

There is no charge for admission to Broadwalk Friday Fest, which is presented by the Hollywood Beach Community Redevelopment Agency every second and fourth Friday along the Broadwalk, just east of State Road A1A at Johnson Street. Car show nights are held the second Friday of the month from 7 to 10 p.m.

Paid festival parking is available at the Johnson Street municipal garage and surface lots at Michigan and Garfield streets, and at the Oceanwalk Mall next to the Ramada Inn Hollywood Beach Resort at Hollywood Boulevard.
