Hollywood, Florida ----- May 4, 2005 ----- Gil Martinez, a planner and redevelopment manager of the Hollywood Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, has been named the Beach CRA’s new Executive Director.
The Beach CRA Board made the selection on April 21 following a nationwide search to fill the vacant position.
The City’s former associate planner/planning liaison to the Beach CRA, Martinez’s background includes the implementation and supervision of beach-area public improvements, business development and improvements, and new development.
As the Beach CRA’s new Executive Director, Martinez will direct the redevelopment, marketing and business-retention efforts of this unique seaside community.
A Hollywood resident, he looks forward to working on a number of projects that will benefit residents and businesses alike, and enhance Hollywood Beach’s reputation as a world-class tourist destination, including improvements to the Broadwalk, redevelopment of the Johnson Street Casino Property and rehabilitation of the historic Hollywood Beach Hotel.
