Fourth of July features Philharmonic on Hollywood Beach

For the first time ever, the Greater Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a free outdoor concert at Hollywood’s Fourth of July festivities on Hollywood Beach.

The “American Salute” concert will be presented by the Hollywood Beach Community Redevelopment Agency at 7 p.m. Tues., July 4th at a stage on the beach at Arizona Street. The performance is part of Hollywood’s Hometown Fourth celebration on the Broadwalk.

In what is hoped to become a cherished tradition on Hollywood Beach, this year’s symphony performance will feature patriotic and popular selections under the direction of orchestra conductor and musical director Ronald Zapen.

There is no charge for the concert or admission to Hollywood’s Hometown Fourth, which will be presented by the Beach CRA and Hollywood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts from 6 to 10 p.m. along the Broadwalk at Johnson Street. The festivities will include strolling musicians and marching bands, a children’s area, special appearance by Uncle Sam and a fireworks display at 9 p.m. (weather permitting).

Paid festival parking is available at the Johnson Street municipal garage and surface lots at Michigan and Garfield streets, and at the Oceanwalk Mall next to the Ramada Inn Hollywood Beach Resort at Hollywood Boulevard.
